FREE RADIOLOGICAL SERVICES TO UNINSURED

Starting Sunday, April 19, 2009


Zwanger Pesiri Radiology is offering

FREE

radiological services to uninsured Long Island residents.

One Sunday each month, they will be opened and staffed by volunteers, including radiologists, technologists and receptionists offering a full array of exams, including MRI, MRA, Breast MRI, CTA, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, Digital X-Ray, Digital Mammography, Barium Enema, Upper GI Series, Bone Density, Ultrasound, and Biopsy.

To be eligible, patients must have a doctor's referral, live in Nassau or Suffolk County, and not have health insurance.

On April 21st, residents of the Huntington Free School District # 3 will vote on a library budget which will help the Huntington Public Library continue to meet the educational, cultural, and recreational needs of the community. The trustees and administration of the library are mindful that in times of economic crisis, the library is relied on more than ever.

The budget vote and trustee election will be held at the Huntington Library on Main Street from 10 am - 9 pm. We hope to see you there!

Earth Day April 22, 2009

April 22 is Earth Day!
April 22, 1970 was the first official Earth Day. This marked the
beginning of the modern environmental movement. Help the environment
by doing your part, recycle as much as you can, use reusable bags, buy things that are made from recycled materials and remember we only have one Mother Earth, so let's treat her right!

Separation/Divorce Group for Elementary-Aged Children

A new group is being formed for elementary aged children (grades 3-5) whose parents are separated or divorced. The group will provide students with emotional support, make students aware that there are other students who share the same situation, and help teach the students positive ways to deal with separation/divorce etc.




The group will meet on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 pm. The start date is April 22, 2009.

Day of the Child, Day of the Book!


El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day), is a celebration EVERY DAY of children, families, and reading that culminates every year on April 30. The celebration emphasizes the importance of advocating literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.


Join Señorita Mimi and Señorita Lily for an entertaining and interactive bilingual program that includes lively music, dance, stories and fun-filled activites.

Anime/Manga Club


Curious about Anime & Manga or just can't get enough?! Join us for a short Anime episode and book discussion. The first fifteen participants to register will receive a free copy of the Manga we are discussing for the month. Next meeting is at the station on April 27 @ 5:00 p.m. and we will be reading Vampire Knight!!!!!

CAIR Center, operated by the Family Service League of Suffolk County, offers assistance with clothing or food, referrals, disability, Social Security, translation, advocacy, information on counseling, emergency food and relief, legal services, senior services and other resources, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at Manor Field Family Center, 90 E. Fifth Street, Huntington Station, the center runs a dental program for children younger than eighteen who live in Huntington Township and do not have medicaid or other dental plans, income eligibility guidelines apply, for more information please call (631) 425-9694.
